put him/her down
What do you think? Answer below!
You can’t heal him if you don’t know what’s wrong, and you don’t know whats wrong unless you take him to the vet. Better yet, give him away to someone that doesn’t abuse him and that can take care of him.
That’s rough. Maybe there is a family member outside of your house willing to take him to the vet, like grandparents or an aunt? Otherwise, it might be best to have someone adopt him. Hopefully you can find a friend or something where you can visit him. If you really care about the dog, you would want what’s in his best interest. I know how it is getting attached to an animal, but you don’t want to see him get sicker, right?
I must say from the sounds of what you have said it was not a good idea to have brought the dog in the first place, give the dog to a no kill shelter. they will treat him and rehome him to a home where everyone will love him and be able to afford any treatments he needs.
My dog is 4 and had a bit of diahorrea recently whilst I was out doing the shopping. I did not beat him when i came home, i let him out cleared up the mess and just left the door open for him for the rest of the day so he could go in and out as he pleased. With diahorrea you should not feed him for 24 hours and then feed small amounts of plain food. If the diahorrea persists he must go to the vet!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so sorry but being an avid pet lover and advocate, this question really saddens me.
BRING HIM TO THE VET
Even if you cannot afford it, most vets have a heart of gold and will treat him. They would probably work out a payment plan with you, if needed.
My opinion? NEVER, EVER hit a dog. Those hands of not only you, but your Mom’s are supposed to be loving and not EVER put fear in that dog’s mind. Dogs want to please their owners in any way they can – THAT is what makes them happy.
If he is sick …TRUST ME… Take him to a vet – I’m sure you can work something out with him/her.
If you are not willing to do that, my only advice is to give him to someone who can care for him… Having a dog is a BIG responsability ( I have 2 dogs, 2 cats), there are no easy ways out when they are sick. PLEASE bring him to a vet or a shelter/rescue so he can be properly cared for. You obviously can’t handle this burden on your own.
In all sincerety, he needs a lot of TLC and medical care. If you cannot afford it, there are those who can. Get yourself a dog/cat when you can give 100%. It’s not an easy job and it can be costly – but please, seek help asap and get this little guy to a place where there is NO HITTING. That is not acceptible. Dogs do what we want them to do – that is what makes them happy.
Please give him to a loving shelter to find a family that is ready for him.
Well if he is able to walk around, more than likely it isn’t parvo. Did he have his puppy shots. You can try pepto bismol, white rice and plain yogurt. I have saved many sick pups with that. He also could need to be wormed. You can get Pyrantel at farm supply stores, or some big pet supply stores carry it. Its also called Nemex or Strongid, its not a prescription medication, so you can get it without going to the vet.
I am quite sure all the small animal vets love all ya’ll that take your pets for emergency vet visits for coughs and having the runs, I’d be embarrassed. True enough, it could be something really aweful that the puppy has, but it’s likely something common that can be treated at home. It could also be something you pay the vet $ 500 or $ 1000 or more and still loose the dog and still owe the vet, good plan for the person who said put it on your credit card.
I’m sorry but you can’t post about a dog that’s in some kind of distress & how you can’t afford to take him to the vet & expect everyone to “shut up about it”. You can’t treat a dog without knowing what’s wrong with him. You can’t use human medicine for dogs. You can’t “treat” him with food. “Hobos” don’t “have” dogs, they have eachother and unlike you, really can’t afford vet care. No one should own an anilmal that they can’t afford to care for properly. Don’t worry about him being sick for his birthday, it sounds like it’s the least of his worries. I feel sorry for him
You’ve gotten alot of answers that I do not agree with. If you cannot take him to the vet because you can’t afford it…(i know how that is because I’ve been there) call up a vet and see if you can get some advice. they might ask you to bring him in….but just ask them what you can do from home and tell them your situation. Try Gatorade or pedialite to keep him hydrated and also try a bland diet consisting of chicken and white rice. No spices or anything. Before you feed him the chicke and rice…withhold his food for 24 hours (just to let his system rest) but make sure you keep water available at all times. Also….I suggest going to http://www.carecredit.com. Its kind of like a credit card for vets…and you can use it for dentists for yourself and stuff too….Apply and if you are approved find a vet’s office that accepts care credit and take him there. I hope this helps… Good luck!
P.s. You don’t have to be rich to have a pet. when you get a pet you don’t expect them to get sick….and it can sometimes happen unexpectedly….don’t listen to all those rude people out there.
